Who provides the lunch service at St. Catherine of Siena?

In August of 2022, St. Catherine of Siena Catholic School started using the School Food and Nutrition Services of New Orleans, Inc., a ministry of the Archdiocese of New Orleans

How much does lunch cost?

All Students – $3.70
Faculty – $5.75
Visitors – $5.75

What does a typical meal include?

• Meat
• Starch
• Vegetable
• Fruit
• Bread
• Dessert twice a week (cinnamon roll, cookie, cake, brownie, etc.)
• Milk  (Children with milk allergies with completed meal modification forms submitted can choose juice or water as a substitute)

Who selects which option the students eat?

PK3 students will only have one lunch option available each day since they eat their lunch in their classrooms.  The one option available for them will be noted on the menu each month.

PK4 & Kindergarten students will make their selection in the morning in the classroom.  They will get to select from the two hot options or the sandwich option.  The students will select what they want and the teachers will record their selections.

1st - 7th grade students will make their selection in the morning in the classroom. They can select any of the options available to them.

How does my student pay for lunch?

SFNS uses https://www.myschoolbucks.com  for payment. Parents should put money into a myschoolbucks account. Any student who has an account created from a prior year should do the following:

1. Select the School District. This is an option on the top right of the screen. The district should be changed to Archdiocese of New Orleans. This may be done by clicking on the school district and using the drop down box, select add another school district. At that point the customer should select Louisiana under state and Archdiocese of New Orleans as the school district.
2. Adding Students. On the upper right hand side you should see your account name along with a person icon. Once you click on the icon, a drop down box will appear. The user should then click on the My Students selection. Once on the My Students section the user should click on Add Student. On the Add Student screen the parent will be able to choose the school (St. Catherine of Siena). The parent will also be able to put their child’s first and last name. To validate the student the parent may enter the child’s cafeteria number or birthdate. (See below to obtain cafeteria number) Once that is entered the program will find the student. The next screen allows you to add the student to the account. After this step is complete, parents will be able to add a student to the account and may put funds in my school bucks.    

If I am a NEW student, how do I get a cafeteria number?

If you are new to St. Catherine and need a lunch number, this will be provided by the cafeteria manager.

How do I find an existing student's cafeteria number?

Please ask cafeteria manager or call the central office at (504) 596-3434.

Can I add money to my student's account using a check?

Yes, you can pay with a check (payable to "School Food and Nutrition Services") and bring it to the cafeteria.  

How do visiting adult guests pay for lunch?

Guests eating in the cafeteria either pay with cash or a check (payable to "School Food and Nutrition Services"). 

How do I get a refund or transfer my balance?

The cafeteria manager will have the refund form to be completed. Balances can be transferred from student to student using the same form as long as lunch is provided by SFNS.

Setting up New MySchoolBucks Account

School Food and Nutrition Services of New Orleans uses MySchoolBucks.  Starting on JULY 1, parents can set up their student's account.
